Alaska Trails and the coalition of partners have worked on securing funding for the Alaska Long Trail through the state capital budget since 2021. We are thrilled to see the results of this work!
3 projects were funded for work in Chugach State Park. Alaska Trails is the recipient for all three projects. Total of $1.434M.
7 projects were funded in the Anchorage area. Recipients were Chugach State Park, Muni of Anchorage (Girdwood Parks and Rec), and Anchorage Park Foundation. Total of $4.22M.
We are grateful to the state legislature and Governor Dunleavy for supporting these projects and recognizing the value of the Alaska Long Trail project for the Alaskan economy and communities.
