The trail is calling, and we want to see how you answer. We're thrilled to announce the inaugural Alaska Long Trail Photo Contest - a celebration of the experiences, landscapes, wildlife, and communities that make Alaska's trails extraordinary. From the euphoria of summit views to the mud-caked determination of a rainy day hike, from quiet wildlife encounters to the camaraderie of trail crews - your photos tell the story of what makes the Alaska Long Trail special.

Adventure

The experience of being on the trail with others.

Culture

People, communities, and trail/camping activities.

Landscape

Scenic vistas and terrain, preferably with trail in view.

Contest Details:

Submission Period: May 1 - November 30, 2026
Winners Announced: January/February 2027
Entry Limit: Up to 16 total entries per person.
Eligibility: Open to all ages, photographers worldwide.
Requirement: Photos must be taken along the Alaska Long Trail.
Prizes: Category winners will receive prizes from our generous sponsors (we should link a spreadsheet for sponsors here).
