About the event
Alaska Trail Stewards volunteers will be hand finishing a new, intermediate level bike trail after it is cut by a mini-excavator. Volunteers will hike no more than 20 minutes on rolling terrain to reach the job site.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, bear spray, bug spray, toilet paper, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, pets and firearms.
Directions: Take the Parks Highway to Wasilla, then Knik Goose Bay Road to Settlers Bay Drive. Settlers Bay Drive ends at our West parking area.
Notes: Volunteers must be 18 or older. Volunteers will hike no more than 20 minutes on rolling terrain to the job site. Â Volunteers must be physically fit enough to complete this hike and work a full day using hand tools.Â
