About the event
Volunteers will hike in approx 10-15 minutes to the site where they will brush out trail corridor using hand saws and loppers. This project is in preparation for work to be done by the Youth Employment in Parks (YEP) program. Volunteers will meet at the Polar Bear Park parking area at 5:45 pm for a safety briefing prior to the work.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: This is an easy hike where you will be carrying tools as well. Volunteers must be physically fit enough to complete this hike to and from the work site and the three hours of work.
