Pioneer Peak Trail Improvements

The goal of this project is to brush and improve tread and drainage on the Pioneer Peak Trail. Hiking is challenging on steep terrain with between 3-4 miles total hiked for the day.

About the event
Volunteers will meet at the Pioneer Peak Trailhead at 9:30am and return to the trailhead at 3:30pm. Volunteers will be brushing Pioneer Peak Trail using handsaws and loppers and improving trail tread and drainage as needed.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: Hiking will begin at the Pioneer Peak Trailhead and will involve 3-4 miles of hiking on challenging, steep grade. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 6 hours during potentially inclement conditions on a difficult trail.
