About the event
We will be brushing the trails that begin at Glen Alps and lead to the powerline trail. Volunteers will use hand tools – loppers and hand saws – to remove the brush that impedes this popular trail. This winter saw the trail choked with alders and this project will remove those. Care will be taken to make sure that no dangerous remnants are left and that the cut portions are properly disposed of. Volunteers will also pick up trash in the parking area and up toward the overlook.
Work may be strenuous at times and volunteers must come prepared with food and water for the day. We will take frequent breaks and have time for lunch. Volunteers MUST be prepared with appropriate attire (including sturdy footwear/ boots.) Please bring work gloves and eye protection but Alaska Trails will provide those if you do not have them.
