About the event
Volunteers will be working to construct a new section of the Middle Fork of Campbell Creek Trail. This new section will replace and realign an old, unsustainable stretch. Chugach State Park has been working for over a decade to complete the Middle Fork Trail and this is the last section to be completed. This is an extremely rewarding and engaging way for volunteers to leave a lasting positive impact on this beloved trail in Chugach State Park. Work will include clearing brush and cutting the tread of the newly layed out trail.
What to bring: Rain gear, layers, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, long sleeves, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, pets and firearms.
Notes: Volunteers must be 18 or older. Volunteers will hike 4-5 miles roundtrip to the worksite. This is a moderate hike where you will be carrying tools as well. Volunteers must be physically fit enough to complete this hike and work a full day.
