Mt. Baldy Trail Brushing and Tread Work
Celebrate National Public Lands Day by helping brush out the Mt. Baldy Trail in Chugach State Park which leads to beautiful alpine views of the Chugach Mountains as well as views of the Eagle River below. Volunteers will meet at the Mt. Baldy Trailhead in Eagle River.

About the event
This project will consist of volunteers hiking from the Mt. Baldy Trailhead. Volunteers will brush back alders and vegetation. There are a couple of minor tread issues volunteers will address as well. Volunteers will meet at the Mt. Baldy Trailhead at 9:45 am. Please pay attention to the signs at the trailhead about where and how you can park your vehicles.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, bug spray, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: Volunteers should be able to hike in steep, uneven, and sometimes muddy terrain and have a good attitude. Volunteers will hike between 2-3 miles total. This is a moderate hike where you will be carrying tools as well.
