The goal of this project is to improve trail tread and drainage on the Meridian Lake Trail in Chugach National Forest. Hiking will be easy and up to 3 miles for the day.

About the event
Volunteers will meet at the Meridian/Grayling Lake Trailhead at 10:00am and return to the trailhead at 4:00pm. Volunteers will be improving trail tread and drainage. Hiking and work is rated easy to moderate.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: Hiking will begin at the Meridian/Grayling Lake Trailhead, and at the most will involve up to 3 miles of hiking at an easy grade. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 6 hours during potentially inclement conditions. This event is open to volunteers age 12 and up.
