About the event
This project will consist of volunteers hiking from the Glen Alps lower lot to the Hidden Lake trail junction. At this point, volunteers will brush back alders and vegetation to the edge of the trail. There are a couple of minor drainage issues as well. The work should take approximately four hours and hiking takes about one hour in each direction. Volunteers will meet at the Glen Alps Trailhead, lower parking lot, at 8:45 am.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, bug spray, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: Volunteers should be able to hike in steep, uneven, and sometimes muddy terrain and have a good attitude. Volunteers will hike between 5-6 miles total. This is a moderate hike where you will be carrying tools as well.
