This project involves drainage, structure demo, and some brushing. The main focus of the event is establishing good drainage to eliminate the muck holes.

About the event
The day will begin at the Upper Huffman trailhead. Volunteers will hike from the trailhead to the worksite and begin drainage work at the trail junction. For the minor brushing, volunteers will brush the trail corridor to the trail standard and drag the brush cut end away from the trail. Volunteers will meet back at the trailhead at the end of the day.
It is 1.35 miles from the parking lot to the end of the worksite. It is 0.6 miles from the parking lot to the beginning of the job site. The work begins at the junction of Silverfern, Hemlock Knob, and Gasline trails and continues along Hemlock Knob til the intersection with Powerline trail.

What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: This event is open to volunteers age 18 and up. Conditions could well be rainy and mud will likely be present on the trail. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 5-6 hours during potentially inclement conditions.
