About the event
Volunteers will perform brushing on the Hanging Valley Trail in Chugach State Park. Volunteers will meet at the South Fork Valley trailhead.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: Hiking will be moderate to challenging and around 8-9 miles is expected for the day. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 7 hours during potentially inclement conditions and on uneven terrain. This event is open to volunteers age 18 and up.
