Volunteers will repair wooden pedestrian walkways on Gold Mint trail in Hatcher Pass State Park. They span over traditionally wet, muddy areas on the trail and the boards are rotting away. Hiking will be easy and no more than 3 miles.

About the event
The day will begin at the Gold Mint trailhead in Hatcher Pass State Park. Volunteers will hike from the trailhead to the worksite and repair wooden pedestrian walkways. The work site is approximately 1 – 1.5 miles from the trailhead. The trail is an easy trail but can be muddy and wet depending on the weather.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day).
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.
Notes: This event is open to volunteers age 12 and up. Volunteers under the age of 18 require a parent or guardian to be present. Conditions could well be rainy and mud will likely be present on the trail. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have…
