Upper Huffman Trailhead

Volunteers will complete small drainage repairs to the areas adjacent to Gasline of Hemlock Knob and Hemlock Burn and will brush the trail from Silverfern up to the junction with Powerline. Volunteers will meet at the Upper Huffman parking lot.

About the event

Volunteers will meet at Upper Huffman trailhead in Chugach State Park. Volunteers will hike in on Silverfern trail and complete brushing and drainage repairs.


What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day). 


What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, children, pets, and firearms.


Notes: Hiking will be easy to moderate and no more than 3 miles for the day. No experience is necessary, but volunteers should have a minimum ability to hike and work for 5 hours during potentially inclement conditions. This event is open to volunteers age 12 and up. Volunteers under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian present.
