About the event

We will be helping brush this trail to clear away alder and other shrubs and trees. Volunteers will be using loppers and handsaws to remove the brush from the trail corridor. All cut debris must be dragged off trail out of sight with the “white eyes” (cut ends) facing away from the trail. All cuts must be made either at the base or joint of a branch. Clear the corridor approximately 1 pulaski length from the edge of the trail (use best judgment). Care will need to be taken to identify areas where the debris can be taken as some areas will not allow due to steepness. A couple of drainage issues will also be addressed and tread may be reestablished.  The vast majority of the work is between 0.25 miles and 1.5 miles into the trail.
