About the event
Volunteers will be cutting brush along the Bird to Gird multi-use trail using loppers and hand saws.
What to bring: Rain gear, sturdy work/hiking boots, snacks, water, sunscreen, long work pants, long sleeved shirt, and work gloves and safety glasses if you have them (if you don't have gloves/safety glasses they will be provided for the day). A long sleeve shirt is highly recommended because volunteers will drag cuttings into the brush along the trail for disposal. Bring a day pack that’s large enough to carry a set of loppers and a hand saw (along with your other stuff). If you happen to have a folding hand saw, please bring it.
What NOT to bring: Alcohol, drugs, pets and firearms.
Notes: Volunteers will walk throughout the day along the trail cutting brush. Meet at the Chugach State Park Headquarters parking lot on the Seward Highway. Drive south on the Seward Highway about 100 yards past Potter Valley Road (south end of Potter Marsh). You’ll see the Potter Station House (Park Headquarters building) on your right. Immediately after the building turn right into a big paved parking area marked by a “Chugach State Park Headquarters” sign.
